Fujifilm has finally made a camera that I’ve been asking for all along (well almost), an ILC camera with a front facing articulating screen. No I don’t care about taking selfies or group shots, I care about shooting video. Not only can I vlog with ease (the tally light on the X-H1 is nice but the camera is a brick), but I can shoot my YouTube videos with ease. Here’s what Fujifilm says about the new camera:
The biggest difference between the new X-T100 and the similar looking X-T20 (obviously it’s big brother or big sister) is the sensor (Bayer vs X-Trans) and processor (no-name vs X-Processor Pro). This isn’t a replacement for your X-T20 or X-E3, but an option for someone who is currently in the Fujifilm eco-system who wants a competent companion video/stills camera with a forward facing screen. It’s also the first non-X Trans sensor Fujifilm camera that I’m interested in, since it has a decent EVF (the same as the X-T20 and X-E3). Check out my latest YouTube video unboxing and first impressions for my full thoughts:

As mentioned in my YouTube video, here are the two images I took consecutively using the Fujifilm X-H1 and the X-T100. Both used the same lens, same JPEG film simulation profile, same exposure. These are SOOC and absolutely no modifications. Details in FlickR and also in the EXIF data. This is just to see the difference between the sensors and processors.
